Julian Marshall

Julian Marshall (b.1965: lives and works between London and Paris)

Having left a career in Law to pursue an inherited passion for photography and the visual arts, Julian has gone on to shoot a multitude of high profile fashion campaigns for a number of the world’s leading luxury publications, including: Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Vanity Fair, Interview, Elle and Hunger.

Renowned for his provocative use of light and sensitivity to the subtle moods of his surroundings, Julian is able to capture intimate moments of timeless elegance and spontaneity. His ability to engage with his subjects on an extremely honest and raw level has made him a trusted choice for a wide spectrum of female celebrities, including Kate Moss, Ines de la Fresange, Emma Watson, Gemma Arterton, Darcy Bussell, Erin O’Conner and Daisy Lowe.

Since 2012, Julian has exhibited his images throughout Europe, in both solo and group showcases, highlights include : ‘The Other Art Fair’ October 2017 ‘No Artists No Art’, Lights of Soho, London (2017); ‘Fashion For Future’ Paris (2016); ‘Julian Marshall Photography’, Whitehall Court, London (2014); ‘Julian Marshall Solo Showcase’, Mortons, London (2012)

Alongside exploring a deeper fine art practice, Julian has recently been commissioned for both Chanel and Dior’s Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week autumn/winter 2017, and will be commencing an artist-in-residency program at The Nobu Shoreditch Hotel in February 2018. Julian seeks to unite both spectrums of his photography practice into one holistic vision, whilst curating suggestive narratives and imagined environments that surpass categorisation and evoke a powerful response from the viewer.
